TPG MEMBERSHIP

Terms & Conditions

These Terms and Conditions ("Agreement") govern the relationship between The Parallel Group (Pty) Ltd ("The Parallel Group", "we", "our", or "us") and every individual or business ("Member", "you", or "your") who subscribes to any membership, protection plan, maintenance service, or benefit offered by The Parallel Group.

By completing your application, accepting these Terms and Conditions electronically, or making your first subscription payment, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to be legally bound by these Terms and Conditions.

1. DEFINITIONS

For the purpose of this Agreement:

Membership means the subscription-based programme offered by The Parallel Group.

Member means any approved person or business whose membership is active and whose subscription payments are up to date.

Subscription Fee means the recurring monthly fee payable by the Member.

Benefits means the services, discounts, claims assistance, maintenance support, rewards and any additional benefits available under the selected membership package.

Cooling-Off Period means the period during which a Member may cancel in accordance with applicable South African legislation.

2. MEMBERSHIP ELIGIBILITY

Membership is available to:

  • South African citizens or legal residents;

  • Persons aged 18 years or older;

  • Businesses registered in South Africa;

  • Applicants who provide accurate information during registration.

The Parallel Group reserves the right to approve or decline any application.

3. MEMBERSHIP COMMENCEMENT

Membership becomes active only after:

  • Successful verification;

  • Acceptance of this Agreement;

  • Receipt of the first subscription payment.

The Parallel Group reserves the right to request additional supporting documentation before activating membership.

4. SUBSCRIPTION PAYMENTS

Membership is offered on a recurring subscription basis.

By joining The Parallel Group, you expressly authorize recurring monthly payments using your selected payment method.

Subscription payments may be collected through:

  • Debit Order

  • Credit Card

  • EFT

  • Online Payment Gateway

  • Approved Collection Services

Subscription payments remain payable until membership has been cancelled in accordance with these Terms.

5. PAYMENT DATES

Subscription payments are due monthly on the agreed collection date.

Should the agreed date fall on a weekend or public holiday, payment may be processed on the next available business day.

6. PAYMENT AUTHORITY

By subscribing, the Member authorizes The Parallel Group to:

  • Process recurring monthly subscription payments;

  • Adjust payment dates where necessary;

  • Retry unsuccessful collections;

  • Recover outstanding subscription amounts.

The Member agrees not to reverse, dispute or cancel valid payments without first notifying The Parallel Group.

7. FAILED PAYMENTS

Where a payment is unsuccessful:

The Parallel Group may:

  • Suspend membership benefits;

  • Suspend claims;

  • Retry collection;

  • Recover collection costs where legally permitted.

Membership benefits remain suspended until outstanding amounts have been settled.

8. MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS

Membership benefits are only available while:

  • Membership remains active;

  • Subscription payments remain current;

  • No fraud or abuse has occurred.

Benefits are not transferable unless expressly stated.

9. WAITING PERIODS

 Membership benefits may be subject to a 90 day waiting period.

The applicable waiting periods will be disclosed during registration and form part of your selected membership package.

Claims submitted during waiting periods may be declined.

10. CLAIMS

Where applicable:

Claims must:

  • be submitted honestly;

  • include all requested documentation;

  • be submitted within the prescribed period.

The Parallel Group reserves the right to:

  • investigate claims;

  • appoint independent assessors;

  • decline fraudulent or unsupported claims.

Submitting false information constitutes fraud.

11. MEMBER RESPONSIBILITIES

Members agree to:

  • Keep personal information updated.

  • Maintain accurate banking information.

  • Protect membership credentials.

  • Notify The Parallel Group of changes affecting membership.

  • Use benefits responsibly.

12. ANNUAL REWARDS

Where applicable, annual rewards remain entirely discretionary and subject to:

  • Continuous active membership;

  • Good standing;

  • Compliance with membership rules;

  • No fraudulent activity.

The Parallel Group reserves the right to amend reward structures without prior notice.

13. CANCELLATION BY MEMBER

Members may cancel membership by providing written notice.

Cancellation does not:

  • Refund previous subscription payments;

  • Remove outstanding amounts due;

  • Affect obligations incurred before cancellation.

Benefits cease once cancellation becomes effective.

14. CANCELLATION BY THE PARALLEL GROUP

The Parallel Group may suspend or terminate membership where:

  • Fraud is detected;

  • False information is supplied;

  • Subscription payments remain unpaid;

  • Membership benefits are abused;

  • Criminal activity affects the integrity of the programme.

15. REFUNDS

Subscription fees are generally non-refundable.

Refunds may only be considered where required by applicable South African law or where The Parallel Group determines that exceptional circumstances exist.

16. CHANGES TO MEMBERSHIP

The Parallel Group reserves the right to:

  • amend membership packages;

  • change pricing;

  • introduce new benefits;

  • discontinue benefits;

  • improve services.

Reasonable notice will be provided where legally required.

17. COMMUNICATION

Members consent to receive communications by:

  • Email

  • SMS

  • WhatsApp

  • Telephone

  • Website notifications

These communications may include:

  • Payment reminders

  • Membership updates

  • Promotions

  • Service notifications

  • Claims updates

18. PRIVACY

The Parallel Group processes personal information in accordance with POPIA.

Personal information will only be used for:

  • Membership administration;

  • Claims processing;

  • Payment processing;

  • Customer support;

  • Legal compliance.

Information will not be sold to third parties.

19. FRAUD

Any attempt to:

  • submit false information;

  • manipulate claims;

  • misuse benefits;

  • impersonate another person;

  • alter documentation;

may result in:

  • immediate termination;

  • refusal of future membership;

  • legal proceedings;

  • criminal prosecution where applicable.

20. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

To the maximum extent permitted by law, The Parallel Group shall not be liable for:

  • indirect damages;

  • consequential losses;

  • loss of income;

  • business interruption;

  • delays caused by third parties;

  • force majeure events.

21. FORCE MAJEURE

The Parallel Group shall not be liable for delays or inability to provide services resulting from events beyond its reasonable control including:

  • natural disasters;

  • strikes;

  • civil unrest;

  • power failures;

  • internet failures;

  • government restrictions.

22. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

All logos, branding, designs, documents, software and content remain the exclusive property of The Parallel Group.

No reproduction or distribution is permitted without written consent.

23. GOVERNING LAW

This Agreement shall be governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.

Any disputes shall fall under the jurisdiction of the competent South African courts.

24. DISPUTE RESOLUTION

Members agree to first attempt to resolve disputes directly with The Parallel Group.

Where resolution cannot be achieved, either party may pursue mediation or legal remedies available under South African law.

 

25. ENTIRE AGREEMENT

These Terms and Conditions constitute the entire agreement between the Member and The Parallel Group and replace all prior discussions, representations or understandings.

 

26. ACCEPTANCE

By completing registration, making payment, signing electronically or continuing membership, the Member confirms that:

  • they have read these Terms and Conditions;

  • they understand them;

  • they voluntarily accept them;

  • they authorize recurring subscription payments;

  • they agree to comply with all membership rules.

 

SUBSCRIPTION PAYMENT AUTHORITY

I hereby authorize The Parallel Group (Pty) Ltd to debit my nominated bank account or selected payment method monthly for the agreed membership subscription.

I acknowledge and agree that:

  • Subscription payments are recurring until valid cancellation.

  • Failed payments may result in suspension of benefits.

  • Outstanding subscription fees remain payable.

  • I will notify The Parallel Group immediately should my banking details change.

  • I understand that cancelling my bank mandate does not automatically cancel my membership.

  • Membership cancellation must be submitted in writing, 30 days prior to cancelation period confirmed by The Parallel Group.
